The “I Wish” EP marks the first commercial effort from New York City resident, Matt Palmer.  Containing 7 piano-driven R&B/Pop Crossover tracks, including the single “I Wish,”  the EP exhibits a level of mature songwriting and musical production not found in his peers.  Written and produced by Matt Palmer, with help coming from Shin Murayama, the I Wish EP is a very personal effort featuring upbeat R&B melodies and catchy choruses.

At first glance, Matt Palmer may appear to be an easy-going, 22 year-old musician attempting to follow his dreams while inhabiting a less-than-spacious, Ikea-furnished apartment in New York City.  However, when you turn up the volume on your speakers and extract yourself from the fast-hubbub of city life, you quickly notice that Matt Palmer has found a way to breach out from the muddied waters of his contemporaries.

Fortified with the tools of songwriting, performance, and production, Matt Palmer is a true renaissance musician.  The personal and thoughtful approach to his music provides a fresh breath of honesty in a world where overproduced, soul-less R&B and Pop music is easy to come by.  Anybody can call themselves an “artist,” but living up to all responsibilities attached to the title is an ambitious undertaking, yet one that Matt Palmer successfully meets with the utmost poise and devotion.

Influenced by Pop/R&B legends like Michael Jackson and Mariah Carey, Matt began writing songs at age 14.  Day-in and day-out, Matt honed his craft until his heartfelt songs and impassioned vocals caught the attention of those in the music industry, catapulting him into studio collaborations with producers and songwriters such as K-Fam (Destiny’s Child) and Adonis (Beyoncé).

Taking to heart the true definition of living life in a “New York minute,”  Matt has gathered years of music-industry knowledge in a short amount of time.  He now embarks into the same world inhabited by his idols, ready to make his impression.  Matt’s passion for music compels him to continually write, record, collaborate, and share his creations with everyone, in hopes of touching all who hear him.  With numerous projects in the works, including a new EP set for release in November, 2009 by MusicTaste, Matt is prepared to take the world of R&B/Pop by storm.
